I have good table manners, as my mother taught me. I sip from the side of the spoon and tip my bowl away to get the dregs. Actually good manners mostly make good sense. If you tip the bowl toward yourself (bad) you are more likely to drip from the spoon onto the table or your shirt front rather than back into the bowl. My mother said the best practice, if you were invited to the White House for instance, was to not tip at all—just leave the dregs.
