Woman in Profile No.2. Pencil on paper. 8 by 10½. 2001. After a painting by Pisanello.

I did Profile No.1 in 1997 when I had just begun this late episode of my drawing career. I worked with permanent markers on paper and made my own frames. Frame making didn't last long. I still have No.1 and she hangs on the wall at the bottom of our stairs. In the Pisanello I copied from she had her hair done up in what looks to be a sort of snood which I allowed to slip down her neck and button itself to her shoulder like a little back pack.
