Ballerina Tanaquil le Clereq with Round Tables and a Bentwood Chair. Pencil on Bristol. 5 by 7. 2004. From a photo (by Cecil Beaton?) that I found in a library book.

Tanaquil, a (French?) ballet dancer, was photographed with several notable writers at a sidewalk cafe (in Paris?). Well, I don't know much about Tanaquil. I think she was famous in the US too. Married to George Balanchine. The book was about the photographer, not his subjects. In the photo she wasn't quite so pensive. I squished my photo scan a bit before tracing and fiddling with it. How much easier it is to adjust proportions with Photoshop. I used to do it by drawing grids and connecting dots.
