Here's the Church and Here's the Steeple. Pencil on Bristol. 5 by 7. 2005. From a 194(?) LOOK Magazine cover photo of Margaret O'Brien. Very cute she was.

The dotted lines indicate my Margaret's sharp shadow as it evaporates into the diffuse shadow of an imaginary approaching cloud. In the cover photo her shadow was made by light from a lamp. Isn't it interesting how shadows disappear into either more light or more darkness—or are the dark or light absorbed by the shadow? What is a shadow, anyway?
