Rolly-poly Contortionist. Pencil on Bristol. 5 by 7. 2004. From another photo of Yaga (see "Buxom ...," above).
In one photo Yaga had her hair up and—in "Buxom..." it was down. I'm interested in hairdos. Especially those fancy coiffures from before women's liberation. (Which in the present century seems, unfortunately, to be backsliding. I count myself a feminist even though I take a great interest, both artistic and romantic, in the beauty of girls and women. Am I bad?) How much trouble the ladies once took with their hairdos! Saturday mornings at the beauty Parlor, curlers, little rags. Tortured sleep to preserve their waves and curls. Remember "Which twin has the Toni?"
